Often times people assume that if they decide to stop eating sugar they won’t go through any kind of sugar addiction detox, but the unfortunate truth is more than likely you will experience at lease some kind of side effects from sugar addiction. How bad will the side effects be? It depends on the person and how addicted to sugar you are.
Here Is Why We Have A Sugar Addiction Detox
Doctors around the world have been studying sugar and it’s long term effects on the body, for some it’s considered a poison. Yes, that’s right I said poison.
Lets Look At The Level’s of Sugar Addiction
We’ll divide the sugar addiction into three categories. Small addicition, medium addiction, and strong sugar addiction. The more addicted you are the worse the sugar addiction detox is going to be. Small addiction means you need to get a can of pop or at least one sweet item throughout the day. Medium addiction means you’re eating sweets with every meal, and strong means every meal plus snacks.
Many people doesn’t realize how sugar effects the brain. Sugar cravings occur when you’re brain is low on serotonin or beta-endorphins which is what causes people to feel depressed, sad, and generally low on energy. Other sugar addiction symptoms can include shakiness, short tempers, and headaches. Sounds pretty bad huh? Anything worth doing isn’t going to be easy, but the payoff of overcoming sugar addiction is worth it. Imagine all the energy you’ll have! The question becomes “how to break sugar addiction?”.
Depending on your age you could have 10, 20, or even 30 years of habit and sugar addiction under your belt. The longer the addiction the stronger the habit is ingrained into your routine. I’m not taking about the mental aspect, but the physical part and how you can’t just address the mental and emotional parts of overcoming sugar addiction. Just knowing that there are two separate aspects of this type of addiction will greatly help you overcome it. A lot of sugar addiction treatments out there only deal with one aspect or another, but not both.
How To Stop Sugar Addiction?
There is no easy answer to this question. It’s similar to people who try to stop smoking only to pickup another habit or addiction instead. Finding a proven system or program to follow though does greatly increase your chances though. That combined with some type of accountability partner increases your chances even more. Don’t get discouraged b set backs. If it was easy everyone would be it and you wouldn’t be looking for a solution. When you do have a setup back, accept it, and keep moving forward.
